Thank you to everyone who participated in our Fun Run! We have raised over $16,000 for Bell School. Thank you for sharing your love of Bell School with family and friends. These funds will be going towards 30 additional iPads, iPads Keyboards, playground supplies, Field Day and the Third Grade Celebration! Here are a few snapshots from the day, thanks to Abby Lewis!
Our popular annual Fun Run is returning for a 4th year on Wednesday, May 22nd (rain date: May 23rd). All students should be bringing home a special flyer this week with more information.
Join us at this lively and fun event and celebrate fitness, school spirit and help raise funds for playground supplies, technology for the classrooms and end of year activities like Field Day and the 3rd Grade Celebration.
Getting sponsored is definitely optional – but the kids enjoy thinking of creative ways to raise money! Plus it’s a great way to increase their motivation to run! To make things even easier this year, we’ve again teamed up with The Get Movin’ Crew to enable each student to create their own simple, private fundraising web page – so getting online donations from friends and family who may live far away – or even close by – should be a breeze! We’ll also be giving out fun prizes for those who make an effort to get sponsors.
All you have to do now is register your student at www.thegetmovincrew.com by Friday, May 15th and set up their private fundraising page. Everyone who registers online will also receive a special Fun Run sweatband!

Do you ever wonder what it’s like to volunteer at the Magic Hat? Is not knowing what goes on keeping you from volunteering? Then you need to watch this awesome video made by some of our favorite Bell School PTO alumni, Claire Henry and Nancy Mahan. After watching you will be a Magic Hat expert and can now earn $50 an hour for Bell School enrichment programs by volunteering! (Be sure to ask Nancy for her autograph when you run into her at the Magic Hat!)

This year’s Bell School Field Day will be on Thursday June 21. On that day, the kids get to enjoy an extra hour of outdoor play with their classmates. They’ll be having a ball doing such things as:
- Plasma car racing
- Wet sponge and bucket relay race
- Freeze dancing
- Obstacle course
- Hoop scoring contest
- Corn hole games
At the end of their hour, they’ll get a chance to cool down with a popsicle! Please note that appropriate clothing and footwear should be worn to school that day – the kids will be running around, getting wet and in the sun for an extra hour.
As part of their ‘graduation week’ 3rd graders will also get the opportunity to have their hair coloured with temporary colour hairspray. If you wish your child to be excluded from this activity, please contact us by Monday June 18 at firstname.lastname@example.org
The schedule will run as follows:
8:45 – 9:45: all 2nd graders
9:50 – 10:50: all 1st graders
10:55 – 11:55: all Kindergarteners
1:20 – 2:20: all 3rd graders
