New England Percussion, a new program on the Cultural Enrichment calendar this year, visited all Bell School students last week on December 7. They were a big hit with kids and teachers alike – as they performed holiday songs which celebrated Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa as part of their ‘Ring in the Season’ presentation. The feedback has been extremely positive about their visit. Ask your kids what they thought.
Students in all grades were treated to a new visit yesterday (November 20) as part of the extensive Cultural Enrichment program. A Boston based Jazz quartet ‘Made in the Shade’ came and performed their musical math presentation. The team demonstrated how music is made using measurement, sets, geometry, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
Ooch kicked off this year’s Cultural Enrichment Program with a visit to Kindergarten and 2nd graders this morning (10/18/2017) with his highly engaging and energetic presentation about bullying – what it means, how to recognise it and how to deal with it. The kids (and teachers) had a blast! Check out some of the video clips on our facebook page and let us know what your kids they learned (email: firstname.lastname@example.org). You may hear them talk about their special super powers and show you some dance moves or even a few tricks with a yo-yo!
Ooch will return tomorrow (10/19/2017) to give the same presentation to 1st and 3rd graders.
Kindergarden students were treated to a visit by the New England Aquarium to experience their “Tide Pools Alive” program on Tuesday May 23. The kids studied tide pool animals and learned about their body parts and how they behave. They were also able to dress up in a sea star costume as well as touch the live animals (including sea stars, snails, mussels, clams and hermit crabs). Here are some photos of today’s visit.
