Dear Friends and Families of Bell School,
The Bell PTO welcomes you to the 2016-2017 school year. As an organization our primary goal is to gather resources and enrich the educational experiences of all the children of Bell School. We do this by funding cultural experiences such as The Freedom Trail Foundation and States of Matter, and by providing funding for technology enhancements in the school. We organize fun events like Family Bingo Night, and support hands-on learning experiences such as those that can be found in the Bell Organic Garden. We also provide support for our teachers, administration and staff. The PTO is a volunteer organization which welcomes all parents, guardians and educators into its membership.
It is through member involvement and support that the PTO is able to achieve so much for the kids. You can join the efforts by attending PTO meetings held on the third Wednesdays of each month in the Bell School Library following drop-off, by helping out on a regular basis at Magic Hat, or by volunteering to help run one of our events. We understand that schedules are busy, and not every member can be present for all that the PTO does. Sometimes support comes in the form of an envelope of Box Tops coupons or a needed cooler loaned for the Teacher Appreciation Luncheon. All sorts of involvement are needed, and appreciated!
Last year we implemented three key initiatives: the launch of our on-line directory on www.myschoolanywhere.com, our inaugural Bell School Fun Run, and the redevelopment of our PTO website, www.bellpto.org. Each was a great success and we are looking forward to developing them further this year. We hope you will take a moment to update or enter your information on the My School Anywhere registry, and add the PTO website to your favorites. It’s a great source for Bell information. This year we are looking ahead to Fun Run 2017 and the refurbishment of the upper Bell playground. Both should be very exciting!
We will kick off our fundraising efforts this year with a contribution drive. Contributions can be made via the link on our website, or by check. We encourage you to try donating on-line directly to our Paypal account via the link at www.bellpto.org. Alternatively checks should be made out to Bell School PTO and delivered to the Bell School main office in a sealed envelope, preferably by September 14, 2016. Please note your child’s name and grade on the note line. We hope you’ll help us get off the ground with strength! Thank you for taking a moment to donate.
Please be sure to keep up with the Bell PTO web-site to see important information and dates for the year ahead. Also, please join us for our start of year meeting on September 21, 2016 at 8:30 in the upper Bell library. Superintendent Maryann Perry will join us as a guest speaker.
