Hello! Just a few more days to go before school is out for summer! We wish you all a safe, happy and sunny vacation. Here are just a few updates and reminders. Over the summer, we’ll post any important news on our website and Facebook page. Talking of our website, we’d just like to give a huge shout-out to Bell School parent Andy Moore who not only has a wicked sense of humor but also helps the PTO with everything web-related. Thank you! https://admcg.com/wp/
June 21 – Color Spirit Day (PBIS school celebration)
June 21 – Harvest of the Month – local organic strawberries!
June 22 – 3rd Grade celebration, 5.30pm
June 23 – Last day of school – NOON dismissal
FIELD DAY: We’d like to thank ALL THE PARENTS who came out to help set up, run and clear down last Friday’s Field Day event. The kids had a blast and the weather was kind to us! We’d especially like to thank KIRSTEN BASSION and SUE WALLER who gave up their days to run the plasma car racing and obstacle course respectively – and TANYA BACHELDER who played a significant role in the whole event! We’re also really grateful to AMIE JAMES and KARA ELMER who were both instrumental in the planning and running of the whole day. We really do appreciate everyone’s support in making this special event happen. Thank you! Until next year! We’ve posted a few photos up on our website! Check them out!
FUN RUN: The total amount raised for the Fun Run was $11,000! Amazing! As well as everyone who participated and supported the event, we’d also like to thank OrangeLeaf and Converse for their donations to the Fun Run prizes and to our generous Bell family who anonymously donated the Red Sox tickets for our Grand Prize winner! All prize winners would have received an email last weekend. Well done everyone! For further information about how the money generated from the Fun Run will be spent, please refer to our minutes from our PTO General Meeting held on June 9.
HARVEST OF THE MONTH: For the last tasting of this school year the children will be trying local organic strawberries, from Riverland Farms in Sunderland, MA – straight up and picked fresh that morning! It’ll be interesting to see if the kids notice any difference between these and store-bought strawberries! For more information on the Harvest of the Month program, please see: http://www.massfarmtoschool.org/programs/hotm/
ORGANIC GARDEN: Would you be willing to adopt the school’s organic garden for a week during the summer months to help water, weed, harvest and care for them? It is a nice way to keep your children involved with the entire growing season. Sign up at: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/30e0444afad2fa31-summer1. Thank you!
Have a good one!
